Inland of Lorca
There are several areas inland of Lorca. The road to La Parroquia is accessed close to Lorca castle and follows inland towards the Blanco Valley and the Los Velez national park. La Parroquia can be found some 20 minutes from Lorca. The town itself has a few bars/restaurants, health centre, school, bakers, butchers, farmacia, supermarket. It is popular with young spanish families as property here is cheaper than on the coastal side of the E15/A7 motorway and they are able to stay close to their families and more traditional village lifestyle yet be just a short 20 minute drive from the cosmopolitan lifestyle offered by Lorca.

.jpg) Another traditional spanish town directly inland of Lorca is the little known Zarzadilla de Totana located some 30 minutes from Lorca. This is surrounded by beautiful countryside and overlooked by the Sierra de Espuña mountain range as it is located right on the very edge of the national park. It is worth a visit just to see the almond blossom in early Spring!
